The stand for the vases is symbolic of a venn diagram to showcase our similarities and differences. The three separate stand parts resemble the mutual support we each offer each other- no one ring can stand on its own.
Each vase is independent and can stand on their own, filled with flowers that that represent what fills the lives of each of my siblings and me. However, when placed together, they create something more beautiful.
The design of TriFlora represents my relationship with my siblings in both final form and in fabrication. I designed the parts for the stand to use one mold and post-machined them to add individuality, just as my siblings and I were raised in the same house, but we are each unique. The three sets of stands and vase may look the same at first, but each has their own idiosyncrasies due to the manual processes.
